Clark eyes backroom signing for Huddersfield Town

Chairman-elect Dean Hoyle outlined the process which secured former Liverpool and England star McDermott, who has had two spells on the coaching staff at Newcastle, another of the clubs he played for.

“Lee talked about Terry Mac early on, but it wasn’t until Wednesday that myself and (chief executive) Nigel Clibbens got to talk to him and see what he had to offer us,” explained Hoyle.

“We liked what we heard, because Terry is a very experienced individual and a great character.

“He will bond well with the players, and he will help keep them motivated during good times and bad.

“He’s another piece in the jigsaw Lee is putting together at this club.”
