Clark to work Huddersfield Town players on Xmas Day

LEE CLARK says rest will be as important as training as he prepares his Town players for two crucial League I games in three days.

The new manager will seek another three-point haul at Carlisle on Boxing Day after kicking off his Galpharm reign with a 2-0 home win over Hereford.

Tenth-placed Town then host high-flying Scunthorpe on Sunday, when club officials will hope for a 15,000-plus crowd.

Clark was today leading his squad through a double training session, and while the players will take tomorrow off, they’ll have a Christmas Day work-out prior to heading up the M6 for an overnight stay.

“Training at any time of the season is all about getting the right balance, but it’s particularly important now,” said Clark, who is working with new assistant Terry McDermott, first-team coach Derek Fazackerley and performance coach Steve Black.
