Ken Davy: Huddersfield Town's future is bright

KEN DAVY is optimistic he can end a six-year stint as Town chairman with a promotion party.

The man who brought the club out of administration in 2003, and was at the helm when they won the League II play-off battle 12 months later, hands over the reins to Dean Hoyle in the summer.

It’s been an eventful year at the Galpharm, with three different managers – Andy Ritchie, Stan Ternent and now Lee Clark.

But Davy believes the rocky times are in the past.

He said in a New Year statement to fans: “As the old year draws to a close it is good to be able to look forward to 2009 with increased optimism.

“Two months ago, despite having a really promising squad of players, we were struggling at the lower end of the League I table.

“It was clear that to have a realistic chance of achieving our objectives for the season it was essential for us to reach the top half of the table by the end of 2008.
