Cads will help Huddersfield Town climb table

KEEPING livewire Danny Cadamarteri fit would be a big bonus in Town’s bid for a new year climb up the League I rankings.
That’s the view of both skipper Andy Holdsworth and fellow defender Andy Butler ahead of today’s Galpharm derby against Oldham.
The versatile 29-year-old was a big influence in Sunday’s 2-0 home win over Scunthorpe after impressing from the bench against Hereford and Carlisle.
The man who created Michael Collins’ memorable stoppage-time winner at Leeds in November also claimed the crucial assist for Gary Roberts to seal the success against Scunthorpe.
But the former Everton, Bradford, Leeds, Sheffield United and Leicester man had started only 11 games before today, making eight further appearances from the bench.
And last season his figures were just 11 starts and three substitute outings.
Knee and hamstring injuries have been the problem, but Holdsworth is hopeful his teammate can have a clear run over the second half of the current campaign.
“Cads is a massive player for us because he gives so much extra,” said the right-back. “Any defender facing him knows they will be in for a tough time.
“He’s got power and pace and the ability to get past people and deliver a really telling cross, and against Scunthorpe he and Gary Roberts gave us great width.
