Killock has to wait for loan debut

SHANE KILLOCK was denied the chance of an Oxford debut at Eastbourne Borough because of a frozen pitch.

The 19-year-old Town centre-back joined the Blue Square (Conference) Premier club on loan on Friday.

“It’s a terrific opportunity for Shane,” explained Town boss Lee Clark, who agreed the deal with new Oxford manager Chris Wilder.

“They are a great club playing at a good stadium with good support and it’s a chance for Shane to play some good competitive football.

“That will be better for him than playing in our reserves, and we’ll have him watched in every game he plays, so I’ll be getting regular updates.

“We’ll see if any opportunities arise for any of our other young players to go out on loan.”

Goalkeeper Simon Eastwood and striker Tom Denton have just returned from a month on loan at Oxford’s Blue Square rivals Woking.
