I’LL BE GOALS GURU: KEIGAN
KEIGAN PARKER has told Town manager Lee Clark: “Stick with me and I’ll get the goals to fire us up the League I table.”
The 26-year-old frontman claimed the assist as Michael Collins’ 67th-minute equaliser clinched the 1-1 home draw with Oldham which kept Town 10th.
But the former Blackpool man is acutely aware that the Galpharm club have been relying on their midfielders for goals this season.
Collins’ strike, which cancelled out Mark Allott’s sizzling sixth-minute effort in front of a season’s best 16,951 crowd (2,980 from Oldham) was his fifth of the campaign.
Gary Roberts leads the way with eight while Ian Craney has six to his credit (plus two for Accrington) and Michael Flynn, back from a loan spell at Darlington, five.
In contrast Parker has just one (from 10 starts and seven appearances from the bench) and Phil Jevons, his frontline partner on Saturday, has yet to break his seasonal duck.
