Huddersfield Town boss Lee: We need to be more professional

LEE CLARK says Town have to be more “professional” when it comes to defending leads.

But after being hit by a last-gasp leveller at Northampton, the Galpharm boss said the degree of disappointment at coming away with only a point shows the progress being made.

Clark’s side are ninth in League I after Adebayo Akinfenwa netted two minutes and 20 seconds into stoppage time to cancel out Phil Jevons’ first goal of the season, scored direct from a free-kick in the 65th minute.

Northampton hit back after having defender Jason Crowe sent off in the 74th minute for a professional foul on Gary Roberts.

“I’m very disappointed, particularly for my players,” said Clark.

“You have to feel frustrated when you are a goal up in injury time and the opposition are down to 10 men and you don’t close the game out.

“You have to be professional in situations like that and rather than try to create a wonderful second goal, you have to see the game out.
