Huddersfield Town boss Clark: We'll take the win

LEE CLARK admitted Swindon’s stoppage-time strike took some of the gloss off Town’s home triumph over Swindon but insisted: “I’d settle for 20 more 2-1 wins between now and the end of the season.”

Town conceded in stoppage time to 10-man opposition for the second match running as Swindon’s top scorer Simon Cox struck his 17th goal of the season after teammate Patrick Kanyuka had been shown a 65th-minute straight red card for pulling back Jim Goodwin.

But earlier goals by Michael Collins, his sixth of the season arriving in the 51st minute, and Andy Butler (60th) ensured Town picked up their third win in six games under Clark to go eighth in League I, just four points off the play-off zone, ahead of away games at leaders Leicester on Saturday and Yeovil tomorrow week.

Clark, who has the perfect chance to have both sides checked out when they meet in Somerset tonight, said: “The Leicester game should be terrific.

“I worked with their manager (Nigel Pearson) at Newcastle and I have a lot of respect for him. We are visiting a great stadium and will be playing in front of a big crowd and I hope my players respond, because this is they type of game I want them to be involved in week in, week out by progressing through the leagues.”
