Huddersfield Town winger Robert's red card blow

GARY ROBERTS has been ruled out of Town’s crucial trip to Yeovil tomorrow – and could miss two further matches.

The in-form winger will certainly serve a two-match suspension after his red card for dissent late in Saturday’s 4-2 defeat at leaders Leicester.

But the 24-year-old, who admitted to swearing at referee Richard Beeby after being yellow carded for kicking the ball away, could be hit with an additional one-match ban because that caution was his fifth of the campaign.

Town boss Lee Clark was today awaiting clarification while preparing to tackle Yeovil without his star left winger, who has started every game this season.

Clark, who could hand debuts to new men Lionel Ainsworth, Anthony Pilkington and Dominik Werling, said Roberts would also be punished by the club.

“Gary admitted he swore at the referee, so he made the right decision,” said Clark, whose side slipped to 10th while Yeovil went 18th by winning 1-0 at Southend.

“He has let both himself and the team down, and we will deal with that using our own internal disciplinary code.”
