LEE CLARK says there is no chance of Jonathan Tehoue playing for Town this season – but the Galpharm manager will reconsider the French striker’s situation in the summer.

The 24-year-old powerhouse is in dispute with Turkish club Konyaspor and waiting for a FIFA hearing to discover whether he can move on without a transfer fee.

Town agreed a short-team deal with Tehoue on the final day of the January transfer window believing he was a free agent. But Konyaspor insist they hold his registration and are entitled to a fee for a player they originally had under contract until 2011.

Tehoue is now back in his home city of Paris as he waits for world football’s governing body to confirm when a decision on his situation will be made.

“We signed Jonathan in the belief that he was entitled to a free transfer because he had been in a wage dispute with his former club,” said Clark.

“But when we applied for international clearance from the Turkish FA, it became clear Konyaspor were claiming a crazy fee.

“At that stage the decision was taken to go to FIFA for a ruling, and now Jonathan and his agent must fight their corner.

“These things always seem to take a long time to sort out, and there’s no chance of Jonathan playing for us this season.

“If FIFA come down on Jonathan’s side, it could be that we look at things again in the close-season.”

Meanwhile Clark has denied rumours that Ian Craney’s former club Accrington have enquired about bringing him back for a third spell.

The midfielder will play for Town reserves when they aim to boost their totesport.com League East Division title chances – and maintain their unbeaten record – against Leeds at the Galpharm tonight (7.00).
