Huddersfield Town to face Coventry City in pre-season test

TOWN have lined up an intriguing home friendly against Coventry City on Saturday, July 25.

The visit of Chris Coleman’s Championship side will provide Galpharm boss Lee Clark with a useful gauge as he plots a League I promotion push.

Clark, who has already fixed up two matches for Saturday, July 11 – one at Gateshead and the other at Wakefield – will also take a team to Corby Town on Wednesday, July 15.

The Midlands side have just won promotion to the Blue Square South as champions of the British Gas Business Southern League Premier Division.

Clark, who brings his players back for pre-season training on Monday, June 29, plans to add more games, and is happy with the schedule so far.

"I said I wanted a mix of matches, and Coventry and Corby will give us different types of games," he said.

"Playing Coventry, who are a well established Championship side, gives us a guide to the level we want to attain, and it will be interesting to see how we acquit ourselves."
