Huddersfield Town's Gary Roberts to roar

Gary Roberts, new kit

LEE CLARK reckons Gary Roberts will respond to his double in the Town Player of the Year poll by producing a top-drawer display at Leyton Orient on Saturday.

The skilful 25-year-old was top of the pops with both Town supporters and his fellow players, and that’s no surprise to the Galpharm manager.

“Gary is a very good footballer who has had a very good season,” said Clark, who inherited the former Accrington and Ipswich man when he took over in December.

“He’s got a great attitude both on and off the pitch, which is shown by his success in both the polls, and he’s a pleasure to work with.

“The great thing is that there is more to come from him, and landing the two trophies will certainly have given him a boost.

“Hopefully the whole team will be parading a bigger trophy this time next year, and Gary has a big role to play in my plans for this club.”

Roberts has made more appearances (46), scored more goals (11) and made more assists (14) than any other Town player this time, and Clark would love to see him back on the scoresheet in East London.
