Huddersfield Town players warned to expect tough pre-season

Town’s first friendlies are on Saturday, July 11 – Clark will send teams to both Gateshead and Wakefield – with the League I campaign beginning on Saturday, August 8.
“It’s nice to win friendlies, but they are about fitness and working on tactics as well,” added Clark, who has also fixed up a home game against Coventry on Saturday, July 25.
Saturday’s 2-2 draw at Leyton Orient left Town ninth in the final League I table and Clark said: “We wanted to make the play-offs, but it hasn’t happened.
“We know what went wrong and of course we’ll be working hard to eradicate those problems, because we intend to win promotion next season.
“We’ve had a final team meeting, and I’ll be talking to all the players on an individual basis, discussing how things have gone and how they can improve as players to help the club and the team move forward.”
