He has had to make do with just three starts and one appearance from the bench so far under Clark, and said: "I want to get back out onto the pitch and show what I can do.

"I am still learning as a player – I have definitely improved this year both physically and technically. I want to keep pushing myself and make next season a big one for me.

"I’ve seen a bit of action in the first-team already but now I really want to get a spot in the team and hang onto it.

"I’m looking to come back into pre-season flying and push myself into the manager’s thoughts."
