Tranmere's Anthony Kay signs up on two-year Town terms

TOWN today confirmed the capture of Tranmere midfielder Antony Kay on a two-year contract.
As predicted by the Examiner last Saturday, Galpharm boss Lee Clark has beaten off competition from a clutch of clubs to land the 26-year-old ex-Barnsley player.
Kay, left, was a centre-back for the Reds, making 168 appearances, including both legs of the League I play-off semi-final against Town in 2006, when he also figured in the final win over Swansea.
He was converted to a midfielder by Ronnie Moore at Tranmere, where he played 96 games and netted 19 goals, including two in the 3-1 win over Town at Prenton Park in March.
Because he is out of contract, no fee is involved.
Clark said: "Antony was a target well before he scored against us!
