Nigel Clibbens delighted as Town head for ticket sales record

TOWN season-ticket sales are set to smash through the 10,000 barrier, with chief executive Nigel Clibbens declaring: "We’re working flat out to create a club our supporters will be proud of."

Early-bird prices apply until 5.00 on Monday – the Galpharm ticket office is open from 9.00-12.00 today – and seats are still available in the Antich and Direct Golf UK Stands.

Excluding this season’s one-off centenary offer, when 16,265 were snapped up, the 9,600 already sold is a stadium record and the highest since Town’s last spell in the top flight in the early seventies.

It’s a reflection of hope for a genuine League I promotion push under Lee Clark and the fact that Town remain one of the cheapest clubs in the country to watch.

"We’re absolutely delighted by the level of sales and see it as a clear message that the supporters are buying into what we’re trying to do here," said Clibbens.

"If you take the campaign just finished out of the equation, and given the special price for a season-ticket that seems fair enough, sales are already up 40%.
