HUDDERSFIELD Town penalty hero Lee Fowler has left Forest Green Rovers to sign for BlueSquare Premier rivals Kettering Town.
The 25-year-old former Welsh under 21 international has agreed a two-year deal to sign for former Rovers player Mark Cooper's Rockingham Road outfit.
Fowler was one of Rovers' most impressive performers last term, becoming a firm favourite with the New Lawn faithful.
The midfielder became part of Huddersfield Town history when he netted the deciding penalty to secure shootout victory and promotion for Town under Peter Jackson at Cardiff in 2004.
"Although we had good cup runs last season and started to pick up towards the end, as a team it was disappointing," said Fowler.
"Forest Green also played good football. But I want to be involved at the other end of the table and fighting for a Football League place. "Kettering already have a good squad and hopefully I can come in to help. A graduate through the youth system at Coventry City, Fowler made a handful of appearances for the sky blues before joining Huddersfield.
