PETER CLARKE is hoping for a warm reception from Southend supporters when he makes an immediate return to Roots Hall.
The central defender, left, has joined Town on a three-year deal after finishing the same length of contract at the Essex club.
“It’s strange the way things have worked out,” said the 27-year-old, “Of all the teams we could have played first, we got Southend.
“It will be another game at Roots Hall and like Lee Clark said, I must remember to go into the right changing room!”
Ex-Blackpool man Clarke, who played 150 times for the Shrimpers, added: “I had some good times at Southend, but things are different now and I’m looking forward to playing for Huddersfield.
“I’d like to get a good reception from both sets of fans!”
