On the training sessions, Clark added: “There application was terrific and I’m very pleased.
“I said all through last season that the attitude was first class and they’ve carried that on into our first day back.
“All I can do is throw down the gauntlet to them. I’ve told them all they can either play their way into my team or play their way out of it. It’s up to them.
“I just hope that with a couple of days to go to our first match against Southend on August 8 that I’ve got a hell of a dilemma who to put into the team, simply because they’ve all made an impact in pre-season.
“I think I must be one of the few managers in League I who is happy with seven substitutes on the bench this coming season!”
