Interview with Huddersfield Town signing Theo Robinson

THEO ROBINSON wasted no time in outlining his plans to give a rampaging sharp edge to Town’s attack this coming season.
The 20-year-old Watford forward has signed a three-year deal at the Galpharm Stadium and will share frontline duties with fellow new arrivals Robbie Simpson (from Coventry) and Lee Novak (who was a goalscoring sensation with promoted Gateshead last term).
Robinson joined his new clubmates on the training ground for the first time today and was reunited with Peter Clarke, whom he played alongside as a loanee with Southend, and Lionel Ainsworth (Watford and Hereford).
As Danny Graham – a previous target for Town – joined Watford on a two-year deal yesterday, Robinson was concluding talks with Lee Clark, Nigel Clibbens and chairman Dean Hoyle at his new League I base.
“Having players like Lionel Ainsworth and Peter Clarke around has influenced my decision to come here very strongly, because I have played with them and they know the quality they possess,” said Robinson.
“Having seen some of the other Huddersfield players in the game with Southend last season I know we have a great squad here, and I think the new additions mean we have a real chance to push into the league above.
“Personally, I believe I am good enough to play in the Championship but I never got the chance I thought I should have at Watford.
“Huddersfield is a big club with a genuine ambition to play in that division, which is where I want to be.
“I want to play regularly and I believe that the club can progress to the Championship, which is something I want to be a part of.”
On his gameplan, Robinson added: “The main thing Lee Clark wants from me is goals!
“I am the same as any striker – I want to score goals as well as working on all the other aspects of my game.
“I think my strengths are running in behind defences and running at defenders – that’s what I love to do.
