Huddersfield Town striker Lee Novak will need rest periods says manager

LEE CLARK says Lee Novak will be monitored closely to avoid burn-out.

Town’s 20-year-old strike recruit from non-league football made a key contribution to the 3-1 home win over Southampton which put the Galpharm club third in the embryonic League I table.

But a busy eight-day introduction to senior level football was ended in the 55th minute, when the former Gateshead player, who came off the bench to make his Town debut in the 2-2 draw at Southend then started the 3-1 Carling Cup win over Stockport in midweek, made way for Theo Robinson.

“Lee has been fantastic since the first day of pre-season training,” said Clark, who signed the former Gretna academy player in January but immediately loaned him back to Gateshead.

“The rest of the players know it and see what he gives to the team, and I just wish he could have got a goal.
