Huddersfield Town’s Jordan Rhodes targets FA Cup progress

“That means getting past Port Vale, and while we’ll give them proper respect, there’s no reason why we shouldn't go down there and get the right result.

“Our away form has been a bit on and off, but after winning (1-0) at Oldham, we all hoped we’d turned the corner.

“As the manager said after the Swindon game, we let ourselves down by making defensive errors, but there were positives in the performance.

“We have to build on those and work as a team to ensure we keep a clean sheet, just like we did at Oldham.

“If we do that, there’s every chance we will win, because we can definitely score goals.”

Rhodes hasn’t netted in the last three games, but Town have scored nine in that time, and the striker believes that’s a huge plus.

“People look to the frontmen to score, which is fair enough, but all players go through spells of not scoring,” he added.

“Just as defending is about more than the defence, scoring is about more than the strikers, and it’s great if a variety of players chip in. That’s the situation we have here, and it’s a major bonus.”
