TOWN have signed trialist wingman Taser Hassan until the end of the season.

The 18-year-old hammered a cracking opening goal in yesterday’s 6-0 victory for the Reserves against Rotherham United before putting pen to paper.

He has been training with Town for a few weeks, playing for the second string at Middlesbrough and also for the Academy.

Busy development coach Paul Stephenson explained: “Taser has impressed us all with his technical ability. He has good close skills, can get himself out of tight areas and has an eye for a pass.

“In the games he’s played he has done very well in the early stages, but he has faded as the minutes have progressed.

“If we can improve his physical state he will be a good asset for the club, and we feel he is worth a chance. The ball is now in Taser’s court. It’s up to him.”

Of Turkish Cypriot descent, Hassan will be hoping to put down roots at the Galpharm after several moves in his fledgling career.

A product of the Nike Academy, which is associated to the Premier League, he was on Portsmouth’s books and also part of Gillingham’s youth system before spending six months in Brazil with Atletico Paranaense.

He has more recently played for Fisher Athletic and Harlow Town before being given a trial by Town.
