Huddersfield Town boss: Training ground work paid off against Leyton Orient

LEE CLARK believes a week of hard work on the training ground was reflected by the 2-0 win at Leyton Orient which reinvigorated Town's League I play-off challenge.
Jordan Rhodes, with his 19th goal of the season in the 26th minute, and Theo Robinson with his 10th in the 68th, ensured the seventh-placed visitors were rewarded with a first victory in five attempts and a fourth double of the campaign.
With nearest rivals Colchester going down 1-0 at Walsall, Clark’s men are now two points off the play-off positions.
“It was very satisfying, and in all honesty, we could have won by more than two goals,” said the boss.
“For the first 35 to 40 minutes we were the dominant team and created some great chances, and even in the second half, we kept playing well.
“Alex Smithies has only really had one save to make and that was right at the end from a free-kick. To keep a clean sheet and win away from home in the manner we did was very pleasing.
“The lads responded magnificently to the disappointments of the last few weeks.
“In the last hour at Gillingham and for long phases of the game against Norwich I was very pleased with parts of the attacking performance.
“We just had to eradicate some errors and be harder to beat as a defensive unit, which we did, when the lads looked very focused.
“We worked them hard in training last week and it paid off.”
