Clark hails Huddersfield Town award winners

LEE CLARK has hailed Town award winners Lee Peltier and Peter Clarke as the countdown to Saturday’s key League I clash at Exeter continues.

Full-back Peltier is the player’s player of the season, while central defender and captain Clarke is the fans’ choice for a campaign which, at the least, will culminate in a push for the Championship via the play-offs.

Manager Clark, whose team still have an outside chance of automatic promotion going into the last round of regular-season action, brought in Peltier from Yeovil and Clarke from Southend last summer.

He was a long-time admirer of both men and isn’t surprised by the impact they have made.

On Liverpool product Peltier, 23, he said: “Lee is a quality player who has been consistent throughout the season.

“He’s a terrific athlete, and his recent switch from right to left-back, which has pretty much seamless, shows his versatility.

“Being nominated by your fellow players is always special to a professional, and Lee’s a popular bloke off the pitch as well.
