Huddersfield Town boss on ex-Burnley man Joey's midfield goal power

JOEY GUDJONSSON will give Town valuable goal power from midfield.
That’s the view of manager Lee Clark, who also believes Scott Arfield will benefit from the ex-Burnley player’s presence as well.
Clark was impressed with the pair of them in central midfield as Town defeated Premiership Blackburn Rovers 1-0 at the Galpharm on Wednesday – Gudjonsson netted the only goal in spectacular style – and he wants to see more of the same against Barnsley at Oakwell tomorrow (3.00).
“Our passing and movement the other night was excellent at times and I think the central midfield two showed they are a very good combination,” explained the manager.
“They mixed things up going short and long and they did their defensive duties as well – but on the ball they give us a different dimension.
“Their one and two-touch passing is terrific and Joey has got that diagonal pass in his locker as well.
“Scott has two very good feet allied to lots of energy and the two of them have shown the quality they will bring to the group.”
On the scoring front, Clark added: “Joey scored a terrific goal against Blackburn and the build-up to it was excellent as well with Lee Peltier putting in a great cross. In fact, I thought the quality of Pelts’ crossing was outstanding throughout.
“When the ball broke to Joey I knew he would have a dip because the one thing he is not frightened of doing is having a go for goal.
“We will be looking for him to get on the scoresheet a few more times this season because he does possess a very decent strike.”
Town attracted a lot of interest from clubs at all levels last season – and the trend is continuing.
