Huddersfield Town's Nottingham Forest loanee Joe Garner aiming for goal-den campaign

Joe Garner

JOE GARNER has goals on his mind this season.

The 22-year-old loanee from Nottingham Forest netted just twice last season – in his final two appearances of the campaign – and is determined to bolster those stats massively in Town colours this term.

Having signed for six months and in the wake of his debut appearance as a sub in Wednesday’s 1-0 friendly win against Blackburn Rovers, Garner said: “The manager has asked me to just do what I’m good at, because if I do then it should benefit the team and the club.

“Hopefully I can bring some more goals to the team, but I also like to work hard and bring other people into play.

“I want to play as much as I can and hopefully I can bring an extra something to the team.”

Garner played just 21 games last term after falling out of favour at one stage at the City Ground.

“I first heard about Town’s interest in January and, at the time, I wasn’t playing a lot of games at Forest and spoke to the manager, but he wouldn’t let me out.
