Huddersfield Town's Ainsworth joins Shrewsbury Town
HUDDERSFIELD Town wingman Lionel Ainsworth has joined League II Shrewsbury on a two-year contract for an undisclosed fee.
The 22-year-old was Lee Clark's first signing for the club, but he has made only 11 starts and 20 appearances as a substitute and, last season, he was loaned out to Brentford.
He links up again with Graham Turner - he played under him on loan at Hereford before coming to the Galpharm.
Town chief executive Nigel Clibbens said: "Lionel was one of Lee’s first signings when he became manager of the cub but unfortunately for us he has failed to live up to the potential that we saw in him.
"This move to Shrewsbury will see Lionel link up again with Graham Turner, who was the manager during his previously successful spell at Hereford United. Hopefully that will help to kick-start his career again."
