Huddersfield Town's Clarke brothers on road to recovery

NATHAN CLARKE could be back to fitness within four weeks – and brother Tom is eyeing a Christmas comeback.

The pair were given the green light to step up their rehabilitation from impact knee injuries after seeing a specialist.

“He was pleased with their progress – and that certainly pleased me,” said manager Lee Clark, who has been without Tom since the end of last season and Nathan since the friendly at Barnsley in July.

“Both of them have been working exceptionally hard with our own physio staff – it’s a long, hard road at times – and getting this kind of news from the experts will provide them both with a big lift.

“The pair of them are Huddersfield Town through and through, they’re popular characters around the place and their attitude is always spot-on.”

The return of Nathan, who damaged a medial collateral ligament, would be especially timely for the Town boss.

Antony Kay is currently the only experienced cover for centre-backs Peter Clarke and Jamie McCombe.

Versatile Tom had surgery on a cruciate ligament in July after being injured during the League I play-off semi-final first leg against Millwall.
