Huddersfield Town v Yeovil: How the bookies see it
Sep 17 2010 by Dougie Thomson, Huddersfield Daily Examiner
TOWN have drawn two out of three at home as they host Yeovil, so Victor Chandler’s 16/5 for Lee Clark’s men to be held once more could therefore attract some cautious cash.
The Glovers would probably settle for a point and are likely to look to keep things tight, so those predicting a stalemate may also fancy Totesport’s 11/1 for it to finish goalless.
However, sandwiched in between Town’s draws was an impressive victory against Charlton and last Saturday, they returned from Leyton Orient laden with a maximum haul so a home win looks a safer bet.
Bet365 chalk 8/15 against Clark’s charges but if that looks mean, confident fans can speculate on a more comfortable victory by at least two clear goals at 11/8 with 888Sport.
More specifically, Paddy Power offer 11/1 for Town to do as they did to the Addicks and defeat the visitors 3-1.
But as Yeovil have drawn a blank three times this season, twice on the road, Town could win ‘to nil’ (11/8, Partybets), lending more correct score appeal to 2-0, at 6/1 with Ladbrokes.
Elsewhere, Stan James offer even money for Town to get their noses in front early, going in at half-time with a lead, Jaxx.com make them 5/2 to be 1-0 up at the break and a home advantage at both the 45 and 90-minute marks is rated at 23/20 by William Hill.
Given that a Town clean sheet is a distinct possibility, Betdaq’s evens for the contest to produce fewer than 2.5 goals catches the eye, and the first of any successful strikes is 7/2 (Betfred) to be struck by last week’s matchwinner Jordan Rhodes.
