Huddersfield Town boss pleased with Arsenal starlet's goals but unhappy at conceding

LEE CLARK heaped praise on Town and the attacking partnership of Jordan Rhodes and Benik Afobe after a comprehensive 5-2 win at Rotherham in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy Northern Section quarter-finals.

Both strikers scored twice and the recalled Scott Arfield the other and Clark, whose side are just three games from Wembley, said: “I thought our attacking play was excellent.

“I was disappointed at Cambridge, but attack was our strength in this tie and won us the match.

“The two young boys up front linked very well and it was also good to see Scott Arfield come back and perform so well after a long time out.”

Clark, however, believes Town still have work to do as they prepare to visit Oldham Athletic with 2,500-plus fans in League I on Saturday.

“I was disappointed with the two goals we gave away which came from set plays,” he said.

“It’s very important we learn to deal with these situations because set plays can win or lose games.”

Gary Roberts made his return as a substitute after eight matches out (broken arm) and Clark added: “It was great to have Gary back.

“For the specialist to give him the go-ahead on the day was a massive boost. He is a great enthusiast and it’s good to have him involved once again.”
