Our sights are set on promotion says Huddersfield Town’s Lee Peltier

LEE PELTIER says Town are ready to win promotion – by whichever route!

Yesterday’s 2-1 home win over Dagenham and Redbridge kept Lee Clark’s side right in the hunt for the second automatic place alongside Brighton – but Southampton, on the same 83 points mark but with a game in hand and a superior goal difference, retained the advantage by beating Hartlepool 2-0.

It’s champions Brighton next for Town, who head to the South coast resort as Southampton go to Brentford on Saturday.

Saints play their game in hand at Plymouth next Monday before hosting Walsall on Saturday week, when Brentford come to the Galpharm.

The victory over relegation-threatened Dagenham, sealed by a Jordan Rhodes double, ensured Town will finish third at worst, meaning that if they end up in the play-offs, they will face the team finishing sixth, with the second leg at home.

After Town stretched their unbeaten League I sequence to 23 games and sealed a ninth win in 12, defender Peltier said: “We’re on an unbelievable run, and we’re looking to finish the season with two more wins and hope results elsewhere fall for us.
