HUDDERSFIELD Town kick-off next season with a home clash against newly-promoted Bury on Saturday, August 6.
It promises a carnival atmosphere for Lee Clark’s side to launch the League I campaign, while the fixture computer has also been kind with holiday games.
At Christmas, Town are at home on Boxing Day to League II champions Chesterfield and then on New Year’s Eve – when they are likely to request an early kick-off – they entertain Carlisle United at the Galpharm.
Clark’s men will also be on home soil for the final fixture against Yeovil on Saturday, May 5.
The derby matches against relegated Sheffield United are both on Tuesdays – September 13 at Bramall Lane and Valentine’s Day (February 14) at the Galpharm.
Town travel to meet Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough on Saturday, December 17, and then meet them at home on Easter Saturday, April 7, before a trip to play-off opponents Bournemouth two days later (Easter Monday).
Town operations director Ann Hough said: “We are delighted with the match against Bury at home on the opening day because they will bring a lot of fans and it will be a cracking atmosphere.
“With us being away to Port Vale in the Carling Cup, it means we’ve then got three successive away matches with Rochdale and Hartlepool following in the league.
“I’m very pleased for the fans that we’ve got home draws at the holidays. Boxing Day at home is a fantastic occasion with bumper crowds turning out and, with it being the League II champions Chesterfield from just down the road.
