IT’S the 85th league meeting between Huddersfield Town and Sheffield United tonight – and the visitors boast a bright record at Bramall Lane.
They might have been beaten 3-0 on their last visit, back in the 2000-01 Championship campaign, but they have won 15 of the clashes at the steel-city venue to United’s 12 victories.
Town’s top triumph was by a 7-1 margin back in the 1927-28 top-flight season, when legendary winger Billy Smith, George ‘Bomber’ Brown – the club’s all-time top scorer – and flair player Alex Jackson also scored twice.
The most recent game between the two was in the Carling Cup first round in 2008-09, when the Blades won 2-1 at the Galpharm, Town’s goal coming from Michael Flynn.
