Huddersfield Town's Hunt on goals and the grab that provoked Jamie McCombe

STAR defender Jack Hunt claimed a Vinny Jones-style grabbing incident led shell-shocked Huddersfield Town to throw away a two-goal lead.

Jamie McCombe lashed out in retaliation at Leyton Orient’s George Porter after the midfielder allegedly squeezed a delicate part of McCombe’s body.

The initial penalty-area contact on 84 minutes was not seen by referee Rob Lewis, so Porter, who had an otherwise outstanding game, went unpunished.

Centre-back McCombe, apparently devastated by his actions afterwards, was not as lucky. He was given a straight red and now faces a three-match ban.

In a quirk of the football rulebook, the visitors were not given a spot kick as the ball was not in play. McCombe and Porter were jostling while waiting for a corner to be taken.

Ex-footballer turned actor Vinny Jones earned notoriety when caught on camera perpetrating a similar grab on Paul Gascoigne in the 1980s.

McCombe’s dismissal sparked a chaotic closing spell in which the Terriers shipped two goals, including one from the corner when it was finally taken.

Hunt, when asked about the initial X-rated grab, said: “That is the case. I didn’t see it myself, all I know is what Jamie himself told us.

“Their lad grabbed him first and Jamie lashed out.
