LEE NOVAK marked his 100th Huddersfield Town game with the winner and smiled: "That victory was massive."
The 23-year-old Geordie ace now has nine goals for the season and 28 for the club.
"It wasn’t the greatest game, but we got all three points and that’s the main thing," he added.
"We showed we can battle and that’s important.
"We’re disappointed with the goal we conceded (Scott Laird levelled in the 67th minute after Gary Roberts’ 44th-minute opener) and they could have equalised with their penalty late in (John Mousinho fired over from the spot in the 88th minute after Novak’s 76th-minute strike).
"But we have shown great grit and determination to get the win, and that was our main objective."
Novak was quick to hail teammate Anton Robinson after he pounced on the rebound when the former Bournemouth man hit the right-hand post.
"It was a tap-in after some great work by Anton," he said.
"It was great to get the goal, though, and this is probably the best run I’ve had."
The former Gateshead player continued: "I got 14 in the whole of my first season (2009-10).
"But I was disappointed with last season, when I had a few injuries.
"I got a great pre-season under my belt this time, which was crucial for me, and I’ve brought my scoring form in the friendlies into the league, and it’s great to be back playing – and scoring."
Novak was also quick to praise fellow frontman Alan Lee, who made his seventh straight start.
