LEE CLARK is bracing himself for a fresh round of speculation over the future of Jordan Rhodes but remains “100% convinced” he will be a Huddersfield Town player for at least the rest of this season.

Scouts are set to flood to the Galpharm when Town take on Oldham on Saturday with Rhodes, who fired five goals past Wycombe on Friday, the main subject of attention.

The 6-0 Adams Park win, which lifted Town to third in League I, was seen by a string of Premier League club representatives and screened live on Sky.

But Clark, who brought Rhodes to Town from Ipswich in July 2009 and has now seen him slot 72 goals for the club as well as earning Scotland international status, remains relaxed.

“Let them come because Jordan is buzzing from the attention,” said Clark of the player who has notched 27 for Town this season plus another six for Scotland Under 21s.

“While he hasn’t yet played at the level they have, his finishing is up there with the likes of Alan Shearer, Andy Cole and Kevin Phillips.

“And his general play is excellent. He is bringing others into the game, he is holding the ball, he is twisting and turning players and creating chances for others.

“You look at the stats and see he is very rarely caught offside, and that’s an indication of how good his movement is.

“I noted the press talk last week, when his value seemed to go up from £3m to £4m, but to be honest, that’s peanuts.
