HUDDERSFIELD TOWN fans are to hold their most strident protest yet in their battle to claim back shares in the Galpharm Stadium.
Organisers hope thousands of them will pack the stands on Saturday wearing vivid, lime green T-shirts in a highly-visual plea to settle the long-running shares dispute.
They have chosen the Brentford game because it is being screened live by the Sky TV cameras
The shirts are emblazoned with the logo: s2. Do the right thing. Give us back our shares.
The message is a reference to the price paid by Ken Davy for the shares in 2004.
But the fans insist: The protest will be peaceful and is intended to show support to Town chairman Dean Hoyle.
He is locked in a stand-off with Huddersfield Giants owner Mr Davy over the shares. Mr Davy transferred the shares into his company, Huddersfield Sporting Pride, when he saved Town from administration.
He agreed to transfer them back to Mr Hoyle but the agreement between the two businessmen has collapsed.
Now Huddersfield Town Supporters Association (HTSA) have unveiled plans for Saturdays demo at the Brentford game.
Chairman Steve King said: We will be distributing approximately 7,500 lime green T-shirts to fans.
Saturdays peaceful protest is to highlight the current stadium share issue and to show a strong message of support to chairman Dean Hoyle and his board of directors.
The nation will be watching as the game is live on Sky TV. HTSA see this as an ideal opportunity to harness support and show watching officials, elected members of Kirklees Council, national and local press, the wider Kirklees public and the nation that the fans of Huddersfield Town will not rest until its rightful 40% share in the Galpharm Stadium is returned for the s2 paid for them.
The shirts have been donated by local businessman Andy Shuter, a Town fan.
