Huddersfield Town manager Lee Clark on comeback win over Brentford

LEE CLARK accepted there were disappointing aspects of Huddersfield Town’s performance but insisted: “It’s all about winning at this stage, and we did that.”

After his side came from two down to gain a third straight victory and climb back into second place for the first time in two months, the boss continued: “It might not be too good for the ticker, but I’ll take this sort of win.

“At the moment we are chasing the team above us (Charlton) and there are six or seven chasing us.

“There will be teams who go on good runs, so we have to be consistent.”

Clark, who revealed winger Gary Roberts needs hernia surgery which could keep him out for six weeks (see back page of main paper) added: “It was very unlike a Huddersfield Town performance in the first half hour. We were flat, we didn’t have any spark and we were looking at each other.

“There were factors, because we had to make a last-minute change after Lee Novak was ruled out by an ankle problem picked up in training.

“At first I thought he was going to be okay, but then I received information that something wasn’t right, so it was a last-minute change.

“We had a great replacement in Alan Lee, but it meant changing things we had already planned and worked on.
