Town boss Clark gets boost for Leyton Orient trip
HUDDERSFIELD Town boss Lee Clark is expecting new signing Kallum Higginbotham to be fit to face Leyton Orient – and welcomes the extra competition and quality he brings to the strikeforce.
The 22-year-old signed from Falkirk impressed on debut in Town’s 1-1 draw with promotion rivals MK Dons.
However, he picked up a knock in the second half, before battling through to the end.
“Kallum just went over and he felt an Achilles twinge a bit,” said Clark.
“We thought that we might take him off, but he gave us the ‘thumbs up’ and said he would be fine. He wanted to carry on and he did well.”
Higginbotham filled a role between midfield and striker Jordan Rhodes and Clark was impressed.
“Kallum is very adept at playing the role just between the midfield and the strikers and he is very good at getting into the little gaps to receive the ball,” said Clark.
“He is quick and he likes to take players on and I think he will be a good foil for the strikers we have at the club.
“Kallum also had a couple of the big Scottish clubs watching him, and one or two Championship clubs had shown an interest, so we knew we had to move quickly.
