SIMON GRAYSON believes all the pressure is on the teams above Huddersfield Town in the race for automatic promotion.

Town face table-toppers Charlton at the Galpharm Stadium on Saturday with chance to close on the clubs directly above them – Sheffield United and Sheffield Wednesday.

Grayson, who could well do business before the loan transfer window closes later today, is keen to build on Tuesday’s 2-0 victory at Chesterfield and maintain his unbeaten run as boss with three points against Chris Powell’s capital raiders.

“It is going to be a massive game at the Galpharm,” said Grayson. “Charlton have had a little blip of late and they can be caught, so the pressure is really on the teams who are above us to stay there.”

While Sheffield United retained second place and maintained a five-point advantage over Town when they were 5-2 victors at Notts County, the Owls drew 2-2 with Walsall and can be pegged by Town’s game in hand.

“The Sheffield sides are fighting against each other and I think that puts extra pressure on them,” said Grayson.

“Because of the rivalry between the two clubs and with the fans wanting to be the best in the city, they are essentially going head-to-head.

“They are the ones in a position where they have something to lose at this time, and all we can do is enjoy what we do, look to get the wins we need and have no regrets when we come off the pitch.”

Grayson is continuing to monitor the fitness of Calum Woods (groin) who missed out at the b2net Stadium when Tom Clarke deputised at left back.

Loan man from Stoke, Diego Arismendi, made his second appearance as a sub and could see his first Galpharm action against Charlton.

“He has got a real presence about him, he can use the ball well and he wants to be a playmaker,” said Grayson.

“He has come to us a little bit short in terms of full match fitness, which you would expect with a player who has not had the chance to play as much as he would have liked.

“But he brings us competition for a place and it keeps everybody on their toes because, in the period of time he had on the pitch for us, he has shown some quality.”
