Calm heads will be crucial to Huddersfield Town’s promotion chances: Sean Morrison
SEAN MORRISON says calm heads are crucial on and off the pitch as Huddersfield Town try to clinch a League I play-off berth – and get their promotion bid back on course.
Simon Grayson’s side still need three points to be sure of extending their season after slipping to fifth as a result of Saturday’s 1-0 defeat at Preston, their third successive loss and fourth in five games.
Automatic promotion is now impossible – it’s between the Sheffield clubs to join Charlton, who booked their place in the Championship with a 1-0 win at Carlisle.
And the highest Town can finish is fourth, which would ensure home advantage in the second leg of a play-off semi-final.
“That’s what we’re aiming for and we know we’re good enough to get it – and to win promotion,” insisted on-loan Reading defender Morrison.
“We need to get back to creating chances, and if we do concede, not to panic like we seem to be doing.
“The fans’ backing is crucial and in a situation like ours, sometimes all you need is that little break, and you’re up and running again.”
