Sean Scannell
SEAN SCANNELL can’t wait to meet his new friends in the North – including Alan Lee.
The pair played alongside each other at Crystal Palace and are set to be reunited for Huddersfield Town’s big Championship challenge.
Rugged frontman Lee, 33, moved from South London to West Yorkshire in August 2010 and has a contract extension on the table.
Versatile striker Scannell, 21, is manager Simon Grayson’s first signing since Town won the League I play-off final at Wembley last month and having penned a three-year deal, said: “I can’t wait to get started.
“I’d never been to Huddersfield before I came up for talks and a medical, and it’s as bit different to Croydon, where I come from.
“But I know a lot about the club, I know Alan well and I can’t wait to meet the rest of the players and get started.”
It’s a first career move for Scannell, left, who joined Palace at 14 and came through their academy to make 141 appearances, scoring 13 goals.
“It’s going to be a big change for me, but it’s one I’m ready for and I believe I coming to a very good club who are on the up,” he added.
