JOEL LYNCH joined his new Huddersfield Town teammates for pre-season training today and beamed: “It’s great to feel wanted!”
The 24-year-old central defender has been snapped up from Nottingham Forest on a three-year contract and believes the best years of his career will come with Town.
A Wales squad member, Lynch also feels Simon Grayson and the Town staff can push him towards a first full Welsh cap, but it’s the Championship where he intends to make most impact.
“To have someone wanting to sign you and ready to let you improve as part of their plans is a great feeling, and I can’t wait to get started,” said Lynch, who was previously at Brighton.
“I just know I’m going to play well under Simon Grayson and his staff and this is going to be the prime time of my career, so I’m really looking forward to it.
“Last season was the first where I’ve been used as a centre-back in the Championship and it was really enjoyable, so I’m determined to build on that here and reward the club’s faith in me.
“I always try my best and put in 100% and I will wear the Huddersfield Town shirt with pride.
