OLIVER NORWOOD is ready for his home Huddersfield Town debut tomorrow night and told the fans: “Come and roar us to victory!”
While Town assess the fitness of star striker Jordan Rhodes – who is under treatment for a Grade I hamstring tear and a doubt for the visit of Nottingham Forest – Norwood can’t wait for Championship action at the John Smith’s Stadium.
The 21-year-old Northern Ireland international impressed in Friday’s 1-0 defeat at Cardiff City and believes Town can put points on the board against Forest – especially with big backing from the stands.
“When we played Barcelona B in pre-season the fans were great, and that’s why you sign for a football club,” said Norwood.
“I’ve seen how excited the fans get and you could see it down at Cardiff, even though it was a much smaller number. There were times when they out-sung Cardiff, so I’m really looking forward to experiencing the atmosphere they will create against Forest.
“We have a great set of enthusiastic fans and I think they’ll really be the ‘12th man’ at home.
