HUDDERSFIELD Town defender Paul Dixon has been drafted into the Scotland squad ahead of the opening World Cup qualifiers against Serbia and Macedonia.
Former Dundee and Dundee United 25-year-old Dixon, who joined Town boss Simon Grayson's squad in the close season, has already been capped at Scotland Under-21 level.
Dixon received the call after Southampton left-back Danny Fox stood down after suffering a groin injury, and he could feature in the first qualifying game against the Serbs at Hampden on Saturday.
Dixon is joined in the Scotland squad by Gary MacKenzie, of MK Dons.
The 26-year-old former Rangers and Dundee defender has yet to win his first international honour, and he replaces Norwich defender Russell Martin who has an ankle injury.
