HUDDERSFIELD Town will not appeal against the red card shown to defender Joel Lynch in the derby victory at Sheffield Wednesday.

Manager Simon Grayson has decided to accept a three-game ban for the 24-year-old centre-back, who took an early bath for a scything challenge on Wednesday's Michail Antonio in the 3-1 win at Hillsborough. Anthony Gerrard is confirmed as the replacement alongside skipper Peter Clarke at Blackpool on Monday night (7.45).

"We won't be doing anything with regard to an appeal," said Grayson, who makes his first return to Bloomfield Road, where he was player and manager for a total of six years. "We have looked at the video and it's a real grey area - I still don't believe it was a straight red card but definitely a yellow.

Somewhere inbetween would probably have been the right card to show, but we don't have one of course. "I think we would be wasting our time going to appeal, because panels don't change their opinion on things unless it's black and white.
