ALEX SMITHIES is ready to hit new heights with Huddersfield Town after signing a two-year extension to his contract.
The talented keeper has agreed new terms through to 2015 – and Town have the option of extending the contract for 12 months after that.
Smithies has conceded just six goals in seven Championship starts so far and is targeting a clean sheet when Watford visit the John Smith’s.
“It’s been great to play all the games so far this season, but with the competition we have for places here you have to be ‘at it’ every single day,” said Smithies, who starred in the Wembley play-off success.
“I feel fit and well, so my sole focus is on keeping my performances at a high level.”
Smithies added: “There’s a lot of momentum behind the club following our promotion to the Championship and I want to make sure I am a part of it. This club is moving forward quickly and everyone is so excited about what could happen here.”
