HUDDERSFIELD Town defender Paul Dixon has been left out of Scotland's squad for the forthcoming World Cup qualifiers against Wales on October 12 and Belgium on October 16.

Dixon made his debut for Craig Levein's side in the goalless draw with Serbia, where he won the man-of-the-match award, and also played in the draw with Macedonia.

However, with the return to fitness of Manchester United midfielder Darren Fletcher and Sunderland striker Steven Fletcher, Levein has not found room in his squad for the Town player.

Former Town striker Jordan Rhodes' early season form at Blackburn Rovers has secured him a place in the Scotland squad.
