HUDDERSFIELD Town boss Simon Grayson surveyed his side’s disappointing 2-0 defeat to Leicester City and admitted: “It was men against boys at times.”
A second home defeat in four days left Town eighth in the Championship and Grayson, whose side were second after winning at Blackpool last week, says his players must learn the lessons of the last two games quickly as they prepare to go to former Town boss Lee Clark’s Birmingham City on Saturday.
Grayson continued: “That’s the way the Championship is, we have come up against a good team tonight. They are a side in form, but that doesn’t get away from how poor we were – especially in the first half.
“There were a few fireworks at the interval because it was all set up for us to bounce back from a disappointing result at the weekend, but we didn't do that. We didn’t close people down, in fact we didn’t do any of the things we were doing so well earlier this season.
“Leicester did to us what we have done to sides previously, but it is a learning curve and we will learn.”
